Savory stir-fried perilla leaves.
Stir-fryingIngredients
- 30 perilla leaves.
- 1/2 onion.
- 12 cm of the white part of green onions.
- 1 red chili pepper.
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce.
- 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame powder.
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
- 1 tablespoon of black sesame seeds.
Instructions
Cut off the ends of the perilla leaves, fold them in half, and finely chop them. Slice the onion into bite-sized pieces.
Chop the green onions finely, and remove the seeds from the red chili peppers before slicing them.
Heat two tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté until it is fully cooked.
Once the onion is sautéed, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and continue to cook until the aroma of garlic fills the air.
Reduce the heat to low and add 2 tablespoons of Jin-ganjang sauce.
Add the thinly sliced perilla leaves and stir-fry gently.
Once the perilla leaves are partially stir-fried, add 1 tablespoon of sesame powder, a few red chili peppers, and some green onions, and continue to stir-fry.
Add one tablespoon of sesame oil and stir-fry for a moment longer, then sprinkle with another tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds to finish.
