Stir-frying⏱ 20min👥 4 servings
Ingredients
- Jinmichae snack, 200g.
- 200ml of water (for soaking).
- Ingredients: 10 cm of the white part of green onions, or 1 tablespoon of minced garlic.
- 100 grams of peanuts (or other nuts).
- 2 tablespoons of chili oil (or vegetable oil as a substitute).
- 2 tablespoons of gochujang.
- 0.5 teaspoon of gochugaru (Korean chili powder).
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce.
- 0.5 teaspoon of sugar.
- 5 tablespoons of corn syrup.
Instructions
1
Cut the Jinmichae (Korean seaweed snack) into bite-sized pieces.
2
Soak the seasoned dried squid strips (jinmichae) in 200ml of water for 10 minutes (do not discard the water).
3
Chop the green onions finely. Place the peanuts in a bag and crush them to the desired size.
4
In a wok, combine chili oil, gochujang (Korean chili paste), gochugaru (Korean chili flakes), soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup, and finely chopped green onions/garlic. Cook over medium heat.
5
Once the sauce starts to simmer, add all of the soaked dried squid (including the soaking water) and cook for 10 seconds.
6
Stir-fry over medium heat until the moisture evaporates and a paste forms.
7
Once the sauce has thickened, add the crushed peanuts and stir to combine, then turn off the heat.
