Braising⏱ 20min👥 2 servings
Ingredients
- Mackerel.
- Korean radish (thickly sliced).
- 2 onions.
- Green onions, a moderate amount.
- 2 green chili peppers.
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce.
- 2 tablespoons of mirim.
- Grated ginger or ginger powder.
- 2 tablespoons of minced garlic.
- 1 tablespoon of gochugaru (Korean chili powder).
- 1 tablespoon of doenjang (Korean fermented soybean paste).
- Rice water (or just water).
Instructions
1
Slice the Korean radish thickly and place it at the bottom of the pot.
2
Place the prepared mackerel on top of the Korean radish.
3
Mix soy sauce, mirin (sweet rice wine), ginger, garlic, gochugaru (Korean chili powder), and doenjang (fermented soybean paste) to create the marinade.
4
Chop the onions, green onions, and chili peppers and add them to the pot. Then, pour in the seasoning sauce and the starchy water from rinsing the rice.
5
Initially, bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium once it starts boiling.
6
The Korean radish is simmered gently for about 20 minutes until it's fully cooked and has absorbed all the seasoning, resulting in a flavorful dish.
